2015 State Junior Championships

The 2015 WA State Junior Chess Championships were held over 3 days from the 13th to 15th of April at North Woodvale Primary School.


The 2015 Western Australian Junior Championships were a little better supported than last years Championships with 8 Players in the under 14,16,18 and 18 players in the under 10 and 12 Divisions. There were very few surprises with Kundan Dharmapuri taking out the under 10 Title, Benjamin Hurst the under 12, Kundan�s brother Sri Krishna, the defending under 14 Champion once again the under 14 Title and defending Champion Ignatius Yap taking out the WA Junior Title without having to share it with anyone this year. A newcomer to our chess scene, Asadullah Aljunied, won the under 16 Title. All players receive a participation certificate for taking part in the State Junior Championships and all players not receiving a first, second or third Trophy but having scored 50% or better in their division receive a merit award trophy. Sadly 4 players who indicated they wished to play did not bother to turn up or contact anyone in that regard.
