The South West Open held on the 18th and 19th June 2016 attracted only 15 players. Nine came from Perth with 2 from Albany, 1 from Australind and only 3 locals from Bridgetown taking part.

One clarification on whether a player could claim a draw was the only incident requiring the DOP's intervention. The highlight of the tournament was the wonderful performance of 13 year old Ramudu Rathnayake from Australind who not only ran second in the tournament but with his score of 5/6 is the 2016 Country Champion.

All in all it was a tournament enjoyed by players and organisors alike, and we look forward to 2017 and hopefully a few more participants.
