The first ever WA Rapidplay Championships was held on the 12th and 13th October at North Woodvale Primary School and attracted 16 participants. The event was convincingly won by Patrick Gong with a perfect score of 9/9, granting him the title of 2019 WA Rapidplay Chess Champion. The minor placings were dominated by juniors with Jamie Laubbacher, Rebo Fu and Oscar Gao gaining second, third and fourth place respectively.
