The 2019 Willetton Open was played on the weekend of August 17/18 at Leeming Primary with 16 entrants. Winner was Kuan Han Sen with a perfect score of 6/6. Equal second with 4/6 were Ben Dagza, Andador Diminador and Jamie Laubbacher who gained the Under 1700 first place. Equal second in the Under 1700 group were Marco Gunawan and Dylan Gough. Barath Harirajesh, aged nine, received an encouragement prize for his first entry into senior chess and for making two very experienced players struggle to beat him.
