The 2017 Kingsley Open was held on the weekend 21st & 22nd October. The tournament attracted 22 entries, with players of all ages (youngest: 7 years of age, and oldest: 82 years of age) and all levels (beginners up to WA's leading players). All players enjoyed their weekend and contributed to some interesting games. The tournament was played in a friendly spirit, which made the weekend an easy one for the arbiters. Thanks to all those who participated, and to the arbiters and organisers (Andrew Hardegen, Tristan Boyd, David Ellis, Evan Yeung). Thank you also to Norbert Muller for meeting us at the venue early on Saturday morning to open the doors and lend the keys to the organisers for the weekend. While there were 12 participants from Southern Suburbs Chess Club, it was a little bit disappointing not to see more participation from the other clubs (3 players from Metropolitan Chess Club, 2 players from Perth Chess Club).
