The 2017 event was held in Boyup Brook over the weekend of 17th and 18th June. There were a few local attractions including a significant Beetle and Butterfly collection in the town. Many participants joined in a dinner on Saturday night at a local cafe to celebrate their wins. Discussion occurred about future locations for the event and prospects of it being held in Albany in March 2018 and Busselton or Margaret River in future years were considered. Prize winners: Open: 1st: Andrew Hardegen, 2nd: David Ellis, 3rd: Gordon Dunlop & Kathryn Hardegen U/1600: 1st: Steven Wood & Mick Nairn, 2nd: John Bamfield, Paul Mosely & John Prince Country Champion: Shared between Steven Wood and Mick Nairn A second place prize was awarded in the U/1600 division as Steven and Mick shared both the U/1600 prize and the Country Champion prize. On Sunday night a Lightning tournament was held. There were 6 participants. The winner was Marc Vlietstra and runner up Gordon Dunlop.
