The inaugural South of the River Open wrapped up at the Bull Creek Community Centre on the 7th of August. This trial tournament was well attended with 17 players enjoying a new venue, kindly provided through support from the City of Melville. The final round saw Dominador Andador beat Edward Calado to win the tournament on Direct Encounter. A tense match wrapped up nicely as Dom's knight exploded onto g6 and precipitate a collapse in Eddie's position.
