2020 South of the River Open 2020 South of the River Open

The 2020 South of the River Open (6 rounds) was played from 2 July to 6 August.

Ten hardy souls kicked off the South of the River Chess Festival with the South of the River Open in early July, just as the COVID restrictions eased. Thanks to the City of Melville for their generous support in providing the Cirque Community Space in Mount Pleasant free of charge. The tournament concluded on Thursday with Dennis Holland and Bradley van Burgel tied on 5/6 and sharing the prizes. Dennis takes out the South of the River Open title on Direct Encounter tie-break. Congratulations to them both.
