The 2022 WA Junior Allegro Chess Championship was held at The Royal Park hall on 30 September 2022. Unlike the Junior Rapidplay Championships, all players were grouped into one tournament. There were a total of 53 entrants. The Under 18s group was won by Oscar Gao with a score of 7.5 from 9. Celine Ong was second, and Lucas Lee was third. The Under 15s group was won by Shannon Koh with a good performance. Aarnav came second, and third was Anoushka Gupta. The Under 12s group was won by Yonal De Vas, another strong performance. Eamon Harris came second and third, Liam Raptis. The Under 10s group won Eric Deng. Second was Ezra Levine, and third was Avan Chung. In the Under 8s, Carter Kerr came first. Closely followed by Kaviru Perera, who was second. Third was Albert Guo Wang. The under 18 Girls' title was again won by Celine Ong, and the under 12 girls' champion was won by Kobe Wu. Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped me run this event: Sanjee, Sanda, Paul Harris, Rebo and his family came early to help me set up the venue. Rosa, Jennifer for all the administration work, Rebo, Sanda (Sanjee's sister), Josh and Sanjee for being the arbiters.
