The 2023 CAWA Spring Blitz was held at North Woodvale PS (Perth Chess Club) on Sunday 26th November. A total of 26 players participated. 15 players competed in the Open section, which was run as an 11-round Swiss. 11 younger players contested the Junior section, which took the form of an 11-round Round Robin. Through participating in the event, the players helped to raise a total of $258 to help offset the expenses of the WA Australian School Teams Championship representatives and WA Junior Squad representatives who will be contesting the upcoming 2023 ASTC Finals and 2024 Australian Junior Chess Championships, respectively. Thank you to all players for their generous support. Many thanks to all who contributed to the arbiting on the day, and the organising and setting up behind the scenes: in particular FM Rebo Fu (Deputy Chief Arbiter), Hui Huang (Arbiter and Photographer), Dylan Gough (for arriving early to open the hall and set up), Tim Hare (for his work coordinating and providing the equipment), and Rob Maris (for dropping in to assist with the packup and secure the venue at the end).
