The 2025 WA Junior Rapidplay Championships were held on Saturday, April 12th, at North Woodvale Primary School (Perth Chess Club), with 36 participants. This year's event featured a 7-round Swiss format with a time control of 20 minutes plus a 10-second increment per move (Fischer). Due to the number of entries, the U12 and U18 sections were combined to avoid odd-numbered byes in smaller player groups. Notably, Nithuli and Senudi competed in a playoff for the U18 girls' title in 3+2 format, which Nithuli won with a score of 1.5-0.5. And Senudi got the U12 girls title. Playoff results: Senudi-Nithuli 0-1; Nithuli-Senudi 1/2-1/2 In the U16 Open category, Issa emerged victorious after a three-way playoff involving Quang Minh and Jaswanth Ram. Quang Minh claimed the U12 Open title, while Jaswanth Ram secured second place in the U18 category.
